CONSERVATION

We endeavour to maximise biodiversity and have implemented numerous conservation projects with help from the organic Environmental Stewardship Schemes.

Examples include:

Planting and ‘gapping up’ over 10 miles of hedges
Establishing 26 miles of 6m field margins for wild flowers and tussocky grasses
The reversion of 65 Ha of arable land back to chalk downland
Planting thousands of trees
Ancient woodland regeneration
River meadow improvement
The establishment of areas for nectar and pollen, and for wild bird seed.
